Vitamix TurboBlend

Love It » True Vitamix power without cutting corners; the motor can handle anything an amateur kitchen might ask of it.

Hate It » Two-speeds at a price point where others have a fuller feature set; older, “tall” container.

While the Vitamix Professional Series 750 represents the top-of-the-line blender in the Vitamix lineup, for some it may be too much—too many features and too hefty a price tag. Fortunately, Vitamix offers blenders in a more mid-range price segment as well, which is where the TurboBlend comes in.

With an MSRP of $399 (and typically selling for a tad less on Amazon), it’s certainly not cheap, but the TurboBlend represents the least expensive model Vitamix offers. So can it still do the job and justify its price tag? Let’s find out!

  • Peak 2 HP motor (2-speed)
  • 64 oz capacity
  • BPA-free container
  • 3″ diameter laser-cut, stainless steel blades
  • 5 year warranty

What Makes It Great

Though you’re paying a (relatively) budget price, there’s no skimping on power with this blender. With a full 2 HP, the base of the TurboBlend packs the same punch as more expensive offerings, such as the $500 CIA Professional Series blender.

If you’re aiming to make lots of smoothies, this machine fits the bill. Though it only has “high” and “low” settings, that’s all you really need to ensure that you’re pureeing your raw fruits and veggies and crushing through ice. The container is of the taller variety, so the included tamper is especially useful in making sure you can push down your ingredients for those super-thick shakes. And though it doesn’t come with the fancy presets, you can still make hot soup with the Vitamix TurboBlend just by running it on high for roughly five minutes.

As always, cleanup is a snap with any Vitamix, thanks to the self-cleaning functionality. When you’re in a rush for work or just have other things you’d rather be doing than cleaning your blender (which is always), all you have to do is add a drop of soap to hot water and blend it on high for 30-60 seconds. Rinse it out and you’re done.

What People Are Saying

This is not your average kitchen blender! If the pocketbook will allow it, and if you are something of a foodie, I think it’s a good investment, it’ll likely last forever and expand your horizons in the kitchen. It sure has delighted me.”

Our 33-yo vegan daughter requested this for her only Christmas present…The very first thing she did was grind some nuts to a powder which took just seconds, and made a couple of smoothies the first minute she got home…she brought it back to our house again to make another smoothie and some Nutella from scratch…I would say she adores this machine…She says it is heavy-duty, fast, will do anything in seconds.”

Eschewing frills and fancy settings, the Vitamix TurboBlend knocks off some of the price without losing any of the power or raw blending ability you’d expect from a Vitamix. While it’s hardly priced low enough to be an impulse buy, it doesn’t have to be: this blender does everything you need it to, making it a great rational decision as well. While we do wish it came with the newer low-profile container that not only makes it a little easier to mix and blend but also helps with storage, it’s far from a deal-breaker. If you’re in the market for a Vitamix blender but are having a hard time with the price, the TurboBlend might be the sweet spot you’ve been looking for.
