Ninja Ultima Blender Plus
Love It » Dual-stage blending; relatively affordable price
Hate It » Two year warranty is short, but you could buy three of these for the price of one high end Vitamix

If Vitamix is the old standard when it comes to blenders, Ninja is like the new whiz kid on the block. With three sets of blades and a bevy of buzzwords like “Pro Variable Speed” and “Total Crushing Technology”, the Ninja certainly has the image of a kitchen force to be reckoned with. But at a price that comes in well below even the cheapest Vitamix blender, can the Ninja Ultima Blender really compete on that level? Let’s find out.
Features
- 1500W, 2.5 HP motor
- Pro variable speed (10 speed) for versatile applications
- 72 oz capacity
- BPA-free
- Dual-stage blending technology
- 2 year warranty
- Plus version comes with bonus Nutri Ninja
What’s the “Plus” For?
Make no mistake, the Ninja Ultima Blender and the Ultima Blender Plus are actually the same, but the Plus comes with a Nutri Ninja attachment as well (1x Nutri Ninja blade setup, 3x Nutri Ninja 16 oz cups and lids). While the “Plus” version is the better value as a result, if you only want a counter top blender and have no need for the Nutri Ninja attachment, you can feel confident that the base Ninja Ultima will give you the same performance as discussed in this review.
What Makes It Great
Power
The Ultima packs a whopping 1500W, 2.5 HP (peak) motor—more than enough power to pulverize anything you might want to put in your blender. Anything from fibrous veggies to ice cubes is no match for the Ultima’s three sets of blades, and you can count on a perfect, even consistency every time.
Dual Stage Blending
This is the feature that really sets the Ultima apart from other blenders. Instead of one set of blades at the base of blender, the Ninja Ultima actually features three sets of blades which rotate at different speeds. The two top sets spin at a maximum of 5,000 RPM and are meant for crushing whole fruits, veggies, seeds, and ice cubes. The bottom set is even faster, at up to 24,000 RPM designed to liquefy even the toughest ingredients.
Versatility
When you’re spending good money on a high-powered blender, you want a unit that can handle a variety of tasks. Fortunately, the Ninja is up to the challenge, thanks to its Pro Variable Speed system. It can replace a hand mixer, food processor, ice cream maker, juicer, meat grinder, grain mill, soup maker, and more!
What People Are Saying
I LOVE that it come with the smaller travel blender. Great for customizing smoothies, using to whipping cream, etc. I love the option for the huge blender bucket as well. I make smoothies all the time and trick my kid into eating kale, spinach, dates, wheat germ and chia seeds.”
