Borderlands, the wildly successful RPG/FPS by Gearbox, is coming to a next-gen console near you. Announced today, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection will come with Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, all released DLC for both games, and a season pass for future downloadable content. It’s scheduled for release on March 24th (in North America; March 27th internationally). In addition to all of the repackaged content, the Handsome Collection will also feature 4-player split screen for the first time ever in a Borderlands game. It’s good to see Gearbox allowing players to go back to the “good old days” of getting together with friends in a living room or basement to blast away at bad guys.
But while that’s all well and good for a $60 bundle, if you’re looking for something truly unique, the “Claptrap-in-a-Box Edition” is what you’ll want to save up for. It comes with a remote controlled Claptrap that rolls around on one wheel (with a built-in gyroscope for balance) and sounds like its in-game counterpart. You can drive it using a free iOS or Android app on your phone, and it comes with a camera mounted in Claptrap’s eye, so you can see where you’re going.
Obviously it comes with all of the games included in the Handsome Collection, plus 12 Vault Hunter lithographs. So if you’ve got $400 burning a hole in your pocket, get on over to Amazon and preorder it now.
